Reasons Why Not to Date Your Nemesis by Melanie Munton
Romance, 18+
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Thank you to Netgalley and Melanie Munton for a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
I cannot express quite how much I fell in love with this book. Melanie Munton’s writing is raw and emotional, conveying the complex feelings of her hero and heroine so perfectly. The steam and the tension started out strong and only built throughout the novel. I wasn’t expecting how quickly the steam kicked off, but I loved it.
Reasons Why Not to Date Your Nemesis is the story of Ben Crawford and Olivia Knight, known in their small town as mortal enemies since Ben’s mom and Olivia’s dad suddenly got together and ran off while the two were in school. Olivia grew up hating Ben for taking her dad away (in a sense) and Ben grew up pushing all of his negative feelings onto Olivia. And you know what they say: hatred and love are not dissimilar and both just as passionate.
Olivia and Ben go through an amazing enemies to lovers journey that I swear is the most successful one I’ve ever read. The mix of emotions is laid out perfectly and the transitions are smooth and well-timed.
If steam and spice and everything small town romance is your jam, pick up Reasons Why Not to Date Your Nemesis. Definitely a five-star read for me.
